The Ins and Outs: Holland & Grand Haven, Michigan
In case you couldn't tell from the plethora of pictures on my Instagram stories, I am currently in Michigan! I am absolutely in love with the natural beauty here, not to mention the killer photo opportunities around every corner. The two towns that I adored also happened to devour my wallet because of the amazing shopping.
Holland, a town known for its windmill and tulips, was the first place that stole my heart. We wandered along the storefronts and found some of the cutest stores! Perhaps my favorite was Gezellig- a lovely home goods store that sells vintage (and certainly aesthetic) wears. Gezellig is actually a dutch word that means warm, welcoming, and friendly. I ended up purchasing a stunning painting of a ship as well as a killer embroidery piece featuring some lovebirds. Once I get those hung up on my gallery wall, I'll post a picture!
We also stopped at Ferris Coffee to rest and grab a cuppa joe. I got my usual (a Soy Vanilla Latte, btw) and enjoyed the atmosphere. They did the coolest foam art on my latte and I adored the floral wallpaper! It's also within walking distance of all of the cute shops, so that's a plus.
This next recommendation is a bit unusual, but hang with me.... Globe Design & Vision gave me my new favorite accessory: a killer pair of glasses! As you probably know by now, I'm about as blind as a bat, so glasses are a regular feature of my everyday outfits. When I stumbled upon this clear pair, I knew I had to cop them. When I return home, I plan on putting my prescription lenses in, but until now, I'll keep using them as readers.
Lastly, the lighthouse on Grand Haven's beach was insanely beautiful. We trekked through the sand, enjoying the chilly water along the way. We sat in the shadow of the colossus, listening to the rhythm of the waves and enjoying the perfect weather. Stay tuned for another blog post featuring this stunning structure!
I absolutely adored the day we spent adventuring along Lake Michigan's coast- a day filled with shopping, sand, and great coffee. Stay tuned for another Michigan post coming later this week!
XOXO,
Sadie
